Experience

Ms. Lai specializes in Civil Law and is also devoted to the field of Labor Law. Ms. Lai is fluent in Korean and used to assist in a corporate merger of Taiwanese and Korean corporations. She participated in an exchange program and studied at the Seoul National University during 2021 as a graduate student during which she published a law review article in Korean. After coming back to Taiwan, she actively participates in assisting Taiwan Bar Association and Taipei Bar Association to interact with Korean Bar Association. Her master’s thesis titled “Employers Obligation to Sexual Harassment in the Workplace and Anti-Retaliation Provision: A Comparative Study on Korean Law” involves the study of the Korean Law as the comparative law, which is considered a pioneering research model in Taiwan.

Ms. Lai is experienced in handling labor disputes and establishing work rules for employers, including drafting and giving legal opinions on employment contracts, leave policy, working rules and so on in both Chinese and English, as well as advising on disputes regarding the nature of the employment contract, wages, annual paid leaves, overtimes, transferring, lay-offs, disciplinaries, etc. Ms. Lai also provides services such as legal investigations on harassment and sexual harassment in workplaces and advises on collective bargaining cases.

Ms. Lai also has extensive experience in handling issues related to collective labor law, including assisting in collective negotiations between employers and unions, drafting collective bargaining agreements, participating in collective bargaining procedures, handling cases related to unfair labor practices, and assisting in complex labor-management relationship issues arising from corporate mergers and acquisitions. Additionally, Ms. Lai has assisted in handling litigation and non-litigation cases related to disputes between employers and seafarers.

In addition, Ms. Lai assists corporate training sessions related to gender equality education in workplaces, collective bargains and other topics related to labor law, often being invited to local labor competent authority to deliver lectures. Ms. Lai also has experiences in advising on construction disputes and construction contract revisions. In regular civil law cases, she has experience in handling general property disputes, succession disputes, and real property disputes.
