Our firm is co-hosting the “Labor Law Forum” with Soochow University School of Law, now in its fifth year. Given the increasing attention to LGBTQ (diverse gender) rights in various fields, the labor rights protection that arises from its interaction with labor law is particularly noteworthy. Specifically, the employment discrimination and new era challenges that emerge in the workplace are a very important current topic. Therefore, this year’s forum theme is “LGBTQ and Labor Law,” and we hope to explore the impact of diverse genders on labor law and the future direction of labor law.

This forum has invited Associate Professor Chang Yi-de from Soochow University School of Law to present a paper on “Be Yourself, Be Comfortable! – On the Protection of LGBTQ Labor Rights in Taiwan and Japan.” Associate Professor Fu Bo-hsiang from National Taipei University School of Law will present a paper on “The Boundary of Gender Discrimination and New Era Challenges: Oscillation and Reflection from Personal Traits, Multiple Characteristics, Anti-DEI, to AI.” They will explore related topics from various angles, including the rights protection in Taiwan and Japan, the boundaries of gender discrimination, and new era challenges.

Additionally, the forum has invited Attorney-at-Law Liu Chih-peng from Stellex Law Firm to serve as a moderator. The comprehensive discussion will be moderated by Professor Chiao Cing-Kae, Adjunct Research Fellow at the Institute of European and American Studies, Academia Sinica, while Attorney-at-Law Liu Su-yin from Stellex Law Firm, Professor Chen Yi-chien from the Master’s Program in Human Rights at Soochow University, Professor Tseng Yu-hsien from the Bachelor’s Program in International Sports Affairs at National Taiwan University, Attorney-at-Law Chen Le-han (Laku-laku) from Dunhe Law Firm, and Professor Chiao Cing-Kae will jointly serve as panelists to share their insightful views.
