In recent years, there has been an increased awareness of personal data protection, leading to continual amendments to corresponding regulations. Various industries are facing different levels of risk. To assist enterprises in understanding how to manage these risks proactively, Stellex Law Firm organized a seminar on June 26th, 2024, titled “The New Era of Personal Data: How Enterprises Can Respond to the Challenges of Personal Data Protection.” This seminar delved into the latest developments in the Personal Data Protection Act and the legal risks faced by enterprises and provided practical suggestions to address these challenges.
The seminar featured presentations by our Junior Partner, Jie Huang, and Associate Partner, Ting-Han Lin. They discussed “The Importance of Personal Data Protection for Enterprises” and “Responding to Administrative Inspection and Implementing Appropriate Safety Measures,” respectively. By analyzing practical cases, they examined the legal risks that enterprises might face and offered effective risk management strategies. This received enthusiastic responses from the attendees. At the event, we were honored to have Director Lin Kuan-Yu from the Cross-domain Integration Center of Science & Technology Law Institute (STLI) and Senior Consultant Wang Yan-Ran from ZHENG YU CAI International Co., Ltd. as distinguished guests. They provided insights into the current state of personal data regulatory compliance, domestically and internationally. They also discussed future opportunities for industry guidance and explained how enterprises can establish a personal data protection and management system in compliance with the law and regulations. The seminar concluded with a thorough panel discussion moderated by our Junior Partner, Jie Huang. The panel discussion engaged attendees both onsite and through live streaming, addressing their problems in practice. The atmosphere was highly interactive, facilitating in-depth exchanges of ideas and experiences.
The seminar was highly successful and received well by the attendees. We hope that the seminar has provided both the attendees and our clients with a better understanding of the importance of personal data protection and the relevant laws and regulations. In the future, we will continue to organize more professional seminars on personal data to promote the exchanges of legal practices, assist enterprises in better responding to various challenges, and provide strong support to the industry.
