On November 6, 2025, at the IBA Annual Conference, Managing Partner Anthony Yang led the “Mediation and Public Policy” session, highlighting the broad applications of mediation in shaping public policy. The speaker lineup included Justice Francis Belle of the Eastern Caribbean High Court and the United Nations Dispute Tribunal; Mr. Lim Tat, a senior Singaporean lawyer and Chair of the International Mediation Institute; and Ms. Natascha Tunkel, a Vienna-based attorney and international mediator. The session covered the role of mediation in public policy formation, practical applications in post-disaster governance and crisis management, and the coordination between economic development and environmental protection. Against the backdrop of global climate change, the session explored how mediation can serve as an accountable mechanism to foster collaboration among governments, the private sector, and local communities to enhance post-disaster reconstruction and governance, garnering strong interest from attendees.
